Specialist Activity Leader
Specialist Activity Leaders will lead or assist in leading either Tennis or Dance sessions, and the general activities in afternoons/evenings. You will also be required to assist on day excursions, airport collection and pastoral duties around the school and in the boarding community.
Hours of Work
Specialist Activity Leaders work a 14 session week, with a session being either a morning, afternoon or evening. All specialist activity leaders will usually receive at least one full day off per week (usually a non-excursion day).
Activities & General Duties
- Teaching / coaching groups of children in a range of activities
- Create and prepare lesson plans for your particular special interest activity
- Help design, prepare and implement daytime and evening activities
- Lead, supervise or assist with an activity session
- Help transfer students to and from the airport
- Ensure that the students are safe at all times during an activity or on an excursion
- Assist with meal time and break time supervision
- Escort students to their houses and supervise while in the houses
- Wake up and lights out duties
- Help ensure that the students do not breach the rules of the school
- Assist, whether on duty or not, in emergency situations, or where a student is ill or injured
Must have...
- Qualifications and experience in teaching / coaching Tennis or Dance
- Experience of, and genuine enjoyment of working with children
- Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, flexibility
- Ability to take control of and lead a group of children on activities and during excursions
Would help...
- First Aid qualification
- Life guard qualification
- Experience and or qualifications in leading groups of children in Art, Drama.
- Experience and qualifications in coaching other sports
