Specialist Activity Leader

Specialist Activity Leaders will lead or assist in leading either Tennis or Dance sessions, and the general activities in afternoons/evenings. You will also be required to assist on day excursions, airport collection and pastoral duties around the school and in the boarding community.

Hours of Work

Specialist Activity Leaders work a 14 session week, with a session being either a morning, afternoon or evening. All specialist activity leaders will usually receive at least one full day off per week (usually a non-excursion day).

Activities & General Duties

  • Teaching / coaching groups of children in a range of activities
  • Create and prepare lesson plans for your particular special interest activity
  • Help design, prepare and implement daytime and evening activities
  • Lead, supervise or assist with an activity session
  • Help transfer students to and from the airport
  • Ensure that the students are safe at all times during an activity or on an excursion
  • Assist with meal time and break time supervision
  • Escort students to their houses and supervise while in the houses
  • Wake up and lights out duties
  • Help ensure that the students do not breach the rules of the school
  • Assist, whether on duty or not, in emergency situations, or where a student is ill or injured

Must have...

  • Qualifications and experience in teaching / coaching Tennis or Dance
  • Experience of, and genuine enjoyment of working with children
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, flexibility
  • Ability to take control of and lead a group of children on activities and during excursions

Would help...

  • First Aid qualification
  • Life guard qualification
  • Experience and or qualifications in leading groups of children in Art, Drama.
  • Experience and qualifications in coaching other sports
